Infertility: Incapability of a couple to conceive even after trying with unprotected intercourse for a period of 1 year for couples in which the female is younger than 35 years and 6 months of trying for couples in which the female is more than 35 years of age.
It commonly occurs due to the disease of the reproductive system, in either a male or a female, which inhibits the ability to conceive and deliver a child. In UK, around 9% of the couples belonging to the reproductive age group are affected by infertility. Among these, around 50% of the couples seek help.
