With less than a month remaining for the MRCOG Part 3 exam, it’s time to pull up your socks and make constant attempt to improve.
MRCOG Part 3 OSCE exam is based on assessment of candidates' overall ability to implement core knowledge and Obstetrics and Gynaecology skills in everyday clinical scenario. The exam evaluates the individuals’ communication and instant clinical judgement skills.
After successful completion of 15 OSCE station sessions, a group discussion webinar will be held on October 24, 2019. This webinar is primarily divided in two sessions, where Session 1 is free for everyone while Session 2 is available only for registered members.
In Session 1(10:00 AM – 11:30 AM IST), Dr Richa Saxena (Course Mentor) will discuss the last-minute tips and tricks for examination preparation followed by a talk on other examination like EBCOG, EFCOG, MRCPI and RANZCOG.
In Session 2 (12:00 PM – 02:00 PM IST), OSCE station pertaining to maternal collapse and neonatal resuscitation will be discussed via structured viva I addition to real-time role play interaction for discussion of best contraceptive methods.
At this stage of preparation:
1. Self-design a history taking performa, and practice recording detailed history in under 2 minutes.
2. Try and practice atleast 10 OSCE station sessions every day, preferably with a colleague who can give constructive criticism.
3. Try to practice OSCE session in patient friendly language and avoid using medical jargons or terms from native language.
4. Try and avoid night shifts and sleep well in the last week before examination. This is not only help you to stay calm but will also help you to think clearly.
5. Most importantly stay positive, prepare well and make it happen.
