REVISION SCHEDULE TO CRACK MRCOG -3


After weeks of studying and preparation, the MRCOG (Part 3) is just around the corner and with it comes multiple hours of revision. To effectively cover all the topics and have sufficient time to re-visit the tricky ones, it is essential that the candidate map out a revision timetable.  Revising in a random order might make you lose track of topics. So, plan out a precise schedule and follow it.

Once you have finished the entire syllabus, go through a complete round of revision to internalize all the key points. Revision should not be done as going over the course in a faster manner but rather should be considered as mean to test and improve yourself.  To do so, calculate how long you have until exam and prepare list of topics and area, you need to cover. Now divide these divide these topics, and calculate how long you need to study each day.

The part 3 examination consists of 14 tasks, linked to one or more of the 14 knowledge-based modules, which are part of the MRCOG Part 3 curriculum. With 23 days left till exam day, here is revision schedule for aspirants enrolled in CrackingMRCOG (Part-3) comprehensive course on how to revise all the chapters and modules before examination:

1. Start off afresh from tomorrow and in the three days revise all the chapters of the complimentary book “OSCEs in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for MRCOG-3” by Dr. Richa Saxena. Prepare short notes, pointers, or mind maps for each topic, and make a list of doubts and queries (if any).
2. Aim to revise one module of online course per day for the next 15 days. Each module comprising of 4-5 OSCE session videos pertaining to MRCOG-3 module-based clinical scenario. Each demonstration in turn is followed by feedback and in-depth discussion topic session by Dr. Richa Saxena. Work on your communication skills and try to complete the tasks within the stipulated time frame.
3. In between, make your calendar and take a day off on October 24, 2019 to attend the group discussion webinar for last-minute tips and tricks for examination preparation and a talk on other examinations like EBCOG, EFCOG, MRCPI and RANZCOG [Session 1(10:00 AM – 11:30 AM IST)].
Registered members in MRCOG-3 Course can further attend the Session 2 (12:00 PM – 02:00 PM IST), for discussion of topic such as maternal collapse and neonatal resuscitation via structured viva, followed by real-time role play interaction for discussion of best contraceptive methods. Discuss your doubts and queries during session.
4. Once both the chapters and modules are done, go-through recalls provided in the course to and check your understanding.
5. Keep the last 2-3 days to practice the OSCE sessions out loud.





Throughout the revision period:
1. Find a suitable time to study, when you think you are at productivity peak. Try and stick to this slot every day.
2. Plan regular breaks to avoid stress and burnout.
3. Be strict and avoid distractions.
4. Eat and sleep well, and stay off caffeinated drinks.
5. Stay Positive.
