MRCOG Part 3 OSCE exam is based on assessment of candidates’ overall ability to implement core knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynaecology skills in everyday clinical scenario. The exam evaluates the individual’s communication and instant clinical judgement skills.
After successful completion of our first batch of Part 3, a free induction session covering glimpses of our course along with 4 OSCEs session will be conducted on 15th February, 2020 at 10: am IST for all those candidates who are appearing for May, 2020 exam.
The session starts at 10:00 am IST; Dr Richa Saxena (Course Mentor) will discuss about the MRCOG 3 in details to all the aspirants. Orientation will be given to candidates aiming for May attempt.
After orientation, there will be 4 OSCE sessions that will be conducted. There will be 4 candidates who will get the opportunity to participate. Herein, the candidates will get the real feel of the exam.
The candidates will get 2 minutes of time to read the scenario and accordingly formulate & design appropriate plan and subsequently interact with the role player for 10 minutes.
Once the interaction gets completed, the examiner will critically evaluate and give her feedback based on the performance of the candidate.
Tips for preparing MRCOG-3:
1. Self-design a history taking performa, and practice recording detailed history in under 2 minutes.
2. Try and practice at the least 10 OSCE station sessions every day, preferably with a colleague who can give constructive criticism and feedback.
3. Focus on communication skills so that you can complete the tasks within the stipulated time frame.
4. Do not use medical jargon as the patient becomes clueless and you could lose your marks.
5. Most importantly stay positive, prepare well and make it happen.
